Australian Bishops

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival will welcome a number of Bishops from around Australia. Bishops will present different workshops, be a part of a variety of listening forums and participate in activities with young people.


Matt Maher

Matt Maher is an internationally acclaimed Canadian songwriter and worship leader. He will perform, lead worship and provide engaging input on each day of the three-day Festival at Sydney Olympic Park including Sydney Showgrounds, Qudos Bank Arena and The Domain.

Matt Maher expressed his excitement to be visiting Sydney again. ‘There is a lot happening down under and I can’t wait to get to Sydney with my band for ACYF to celebrate with the young heart of the Church,’ he said.ACYF Emily Wilsonv5.0s

Emily Wilson
Emily will be making her Australian debut at ACYF17. Emily Wilson is a speaker, author, and musician who travels the world sharing her faith through witness and worship. The heart of her ministry is helping every person she encounters recognise their identity and worth in Christ - she brings a message of hope that is moving hearts of all ages. Emily has always been a California girl and enjoys living in Southern California as a newlywed with her Dutch husband Daniël.

Steve Angrisano 
Steve is an ACYF favourite who we are excited to welcome back to share his passion and love with ACYF17. Steve Angrisano is a veteran musician and composer, Steve has been featured at six World Youth Days, the National Pastoral Musicians Conference (NPM), the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, National Catholic Youth Conferences (NCYC), and many other national and international events.


Fr Rob Galea
Fr Rob Galea is an ordained Catholic Priest and is currently serving in Sandhurst Diocese, Victoria after moving to Australia from Malta, his home country. He is a singer and songwriter with an international fan base. Apart from a series of recordings and CD releases, Fr Rob has also written a number of songs for various campaigns and international conferences.

Genevieve Bryant
Genevieve is a musician singer/songwriter and is the coordinator of the vibrant Youth Engagement Project (YEP) based in Melbourne. Genevieve was the winner of the ACYF2015 song competition with her song, "Pure of Heart."

Sr Mary Rachel Capets
Sister Mary Rachel is a Dominican Sister of Saint Cecilia, originally from the US and serving in Australia for the past 10 years. Sister currently teaches at Trinity Catholic College in Auburn and serves as the vocation director for her community.

Emma Fradd is an Australian singer-songwriter, originally from Port Pirie in South Australia, lived in Canada for 6 years, serving in NET Canada Ministries and touring with her 2-piece band 'Interior Castles'. She now lives in Brisbane and is one-half of up-and-coming 'Peanut Brittle Pop' band, Heaps Good Friends. Read more about Emma here and her faith story here.

Gary Pinto
Singer-songwriter, vocal coach and back up vocalist for Australian and International stars Gary is a respected and highly acclaimed member of the Australian music scene. It is, however, Gary's faith captured in his stunning witness and performance that endears him to audiences and artists alike. 

Gifted singer songwriter Natasha is storming her way into the hearts of the Australian music industry with her RnB sound, having toured with Boyz II Men. Kci and Jojo and Pink. Natasha and husband Gary often unite and are a powerful witness to pray and the power of God. 

Thérèse Nichols
Thérèse Nichols is the co-founder of OnePlate, a social enterprise which unites restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars with socially-conscious customers, under the common goal of supporting vulnerable people in the developing world.
